The Road To Randall's Island Begins Now

It's finally here track fans: the New York event you've been waiting for. 

The athletes are primed, the venue is prepped and the public is psyched over what will transpire on June 11th at Ichan Stadium.

The road to Randall's Island begins now.

The Latest:

  • Diamond League superstars Usain Bolt (JAM) and Gay better keep their eye on their rear view mirror - - aGP participant Steve Mullings (JAM) is coming up fast and he's not going to stop until he overtakes the field. 
  • Nickel Ashmeade (JAM) took to the airwaves and talked with Irie Jam Radioabout the aGP, his accomplishments so far and his expectations for the race.
  • The 400m hurdles are packed with high-caliber athletes, like LJ Van Zyl(RSA), David Greene (GBR) and Bershawn Jackson (USA), who told Runnerspace.com that he is ready to compete in New York.

Getting To Know the adidas Dream Mile and Dream 100 Superstars of Tomorrow:

  • Twin racers Jim and Joe Rosa (NJ) were named Sports Illustrated High School Athletes of the Week. Check out their story here.
  • North Carolina star Blake Williams sat down with Runnerspace.com and talked about choosing the University of North Carolina, his career so far and what he expects to accomplish in the future.
  • The adidas Dream Mile and Dream 100 was well represented at the 2011 CIF State Track and Field Championships in California this weekend.   Alli Billmeyer (Torrey Pines H.S.) took second in the Girls 1600m, clocking in at 4:40.88.  Jantzen Oshier (Trabuco Hills H.S.) won the Boys 1600m with a national leading time of 4:00.3, beating out Elias Gedyon (Loyola H.S.) who took second and Matt Carpowich (Torrey Pines H.S.) who placed fourth.  Gedyon later won the 3200m in 8:50.03  Lastly, Remontay McClain (Covina H.S.) won the Boys' 100m in 10.39 and the 200 in 20.95, more than half a second head of second place.
